PeeWee Rep win consolation championship at YCW
The Goderich Lions Club PeeWee Rep team won the consolation championship at the 60th Annual Young Canada Week.
The team played 5 games in total, winning 3 of them. They lost the opening game to Kincardine 2-1, then were victorious over St. Mary's 2-0 and Wallaceburg Jr. Lakers 3-2. At the end of round robin play, Goderich would finish 2nd and play St. Mary's in the semi-final. St. Mary's would prove to be too much for the Sailors and would defeat the local boys 4-3, sending the Sailors to the consolation game.
The boys would remain strong throughout the game, ensuring a victory 5-2.
The team now turns their attention to the final series of the WOAA league playoffs. They will face the Seaforth Stars in a 2 out of three series.
