On March 5, 2009 the Sailors hosted to the Listowel Cyclones. Matthew Bean scored the sole goal for the Sailors at 6:49 in the third period. Assists were awarded to James Zolob and Kyle Stanbury. The Sailors came up short, losing 2-1.
Unfortunately the Sailors fell short on March 8, 2009 against Kincardine and were unable to score against them, losing 7-0.
On March 9, 2009 the Sailors had a big win, defeating the Cyclones on their home turf. Only 26 seconds into the game Dwyer Brown scored for the Sailors, assisted by Matthew Bean and Kyle Stanbury. This would set the tone for the rest of the game. Later in the first period James Zolob had a break away, scoring as well for the Sailors. Finally with 1:42 left in the game Matthew Bean scored one final goal. Kyle Prouse earned the bragging rights of his first shut-out! The team demonstrated great team work and spirit.
The Sailors now challenge Kincardine again March 13, 2009 in Tiverton.
