Novice Rep tie Mitchell Meteors
Novice Sailors tie game with Mitchell Meteors 2-2.
On Friday, January 2, 2009, the Sailors challenged the Mitchell Meteors on their home turf.
At the end of the first period the Sailors were down by one, however this did not discourage the mighty Sailors.
At 1:42 in the second period, Trent Buchanan, tied the score, unassisted.
Buchanan scored again early in the third at 9:04, assisted by Mark Morris. This gave the Sailors a one goal advantage.
With 32.5 seconds left on the clock and a 6 on 4 man advantage, the Meteors were able to net the tying goal with a scramble in front of the net.
Kyle Prouse was phenomenal defending the Sailors net!
The Sailors showed great team work and effort on the ice.
The Sailors are now off to Lucknow in a one day tournament tomorrow.
