On Saturday, December 27, 2008 the Goderich Novice Rep Sailors defeated Listowel 3-2 in their first game. Goals were scored by Matthew Bean, Kyle Stanbury and Bayden Parent. Assists were awarded to Bean, Stanbury, James Zolob and 2 for Carter Thomlinson. Kyle Prouse did an incredible job defending the Sailors net. Kyle Stanbury was awarded as MVP of the game.
In their second game of the day, the Sailors fell to a strong Walkerton team, losing 7-1. The lone Goderich goal was scored by Bean, assisted by Mark Morris and Thomlinson. Jacob Abbott was given the MVP of the game for his strong game in net, despite the score.
On Monday, December 29, 2008 Goderich fell to a strong Twin Centre team, losing 9-4 in their third and final game. Scoring for the Sailors were Bean with a pair, Zolob and Trent Buchanan. Assists were awarded to Thomlinson, Stanbury, Buchanan and Jackson Million. Bean was given the MVP of the game.
Although not awarded on the game sheets, Brady Gerber, Joshua Larkin, Josh Bakker, Nathan Erb, and Dwyer Brown contributed to the strong team effort.
