Novice Rep lose to BCH
On Monday, December 16, 2008 the Novice Rep Sailors travelled to Bayfield to play BCH for the first time. The final score was 8-3.
In the first period, the Sailors were down by 3, when Trent Buchanan scored the Sailors first goal, unassisted at 2:12.
Despite several shots on net, by both the Ice Dogs and Sailors, neither team was able to net another goal in the second period.
At 11:35 in the third period, Matthew Bean passed the puck to Buchanan, who scored again for the Sailors.
The Ice Dogs netted 3 additional goals, before Buchanan completed the hat trick, from an assist by Bean at 2:54 in the third period. The Ice Dogs answered back with 2 additional goals late in the third, leaving the score 8-3.
Honourable mention goes to the boys playing defence, Dwyer Brown, Brady Gerber, Nathan Erb, Josh Larkin, Josh Baker and Jackson Million.
Between the pipes Kyle Prouse and Jacob Abbott saw 37 shots.
It was an action packed game! Despite the loss the Sailors showed tremendous team work.
