Atom Sailorettes win Woodstock Wildcats "A" Championship
The Atom Sailorettes have won their third tournament of the season, going undefeated in the Woodstock Wildcats 13th AnnualTournament held January 2-4, 2009.

In their first game, the Sailorettes faced off against the Walkerton Capitals.  The Sailorettes controlled the game coming away with a 4-0 victory.

The second game had them meet up with a new opponent, the Ingersoll Ice.  This team is the most competition the girls have faced all year however the Sailorettes would prevail and skate to a 4-1 victory.  Great team effort girls!

After winning the first two games, the girls knew they had advanced to the final.  Their 8:00am Sunday morning game would be against London and the girls would dominate this game with a convincing 9-1 victory.

The final would see the girls play against the Ingersoll Ice.  It was evident the Ice wanted to redeem themselves by defeating the Sailorettes however it was the Sailorettes who would score first.  The game would remain 1-0 until the 3rd period when The Sailorettes would score their second of the game.  The final goal would come late in the 3rd period when the Ice pulled their netminder for the 6th skater.

The tournament was a huge success for the girls who outscored their opponents 20-2.  Well done team now its back to dryland and regular practices getting ready for the Orangeville Tigers tournament, playoffs and International Silver Stick.
