Midget Rep, 2007-2008 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

The Midget Rep played a very disciplined series with BCH in the WOAA Consolation quarter-finals and came out on top 2 games to 1 to advance to the semi-finals vs. Listowel. However, Listowel withdrew from playoffs which meant that Goderich automatically advances to the finals. We are now waiting for the winner between Walkerton and Mt. Forest.

The Midget Rep successfully defeated Kincardine in round 1 of OMHA playoffs 7 points to 5. The games were all very close as the teams were very evenly matched. Game #3 ended in a tie even after overtime. This resulted in the series being decided by points. Game #4 was played in Kincardine and was the most exciting of the series as Kincardine went ahead by one goal with 24 seconds left in the game. Even though it looked like the series might have been over, our boys didn't give up and tied the score with 0.2 seconds left on the clock. Overtime saw a lot of back and forth play, but Goderich ...

Our first round of playoffs is vs. Kincardine in a 3 out of 5 series. Despite a hard fought game, we lost our first game 4 - 2. The boys came out strong right from the start and really gave Kincardine a run for their money. The score was tied 2 - 2 going into the third but the boys gave up another one. The final Kincardine goal was scored on an empty Goderich net. Our next game is at the Maitland Rec.Ctr. at 9:00pm on Thurs. Jan. 18th.

We held a Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on Saturday, December 8th at the Goderich Legion to try to raise funds for our trip to Sweden. Players attended in their jerseys to assist in set up and clean up. People who attended were able to sample 6 different wines and learn all about them from the District Manager for The Wine Rack, Trycia Lynch.
