The McDonald’s Novice Rep traveled to Tiverton on Saturday Nov. 24 to face off against the Kincardine Flyers. The game started off with both teams playing tough with the first goal of the game going to Goderich midway through the period.
Again midway through the second Goderich notched their second of the game and kept Kincardine off the score board for the period. The Sailors came out quick in the third scoring another unanswered goal just one minute in. With nine minutes remaining in the period the Sailors came together scoring 3 goals in just 36 seconds. Great defensive work held Kincardine off the board until just 41 seconds remaining in the game with the final score 6 – 1 for Goderich. The Sailors playing with a short bench played an excellent game at both ends of the rink.
Scoring for the Sailors was spread throughout the team again reflecting a great team effort. The scoring went to Nate Helesic (2), Darren Lockie (2), Ben Derrough and Kody Ritchie with assists going to Trent Buchanan (2), Cameron Brenner (2), Troy Peters, Nate Helesic, Ben Derrough and Darren Lockie.
