The PeeWee Kinsmen faced a tough Lambton Shores team in Game #1, which ended in a loss with a score of 1-6. Our lone goal was scored by Tyson.  The Sailors regrouped and came back strong for game #2 with a big win and shutout for Dylan Mc with a score of 5-0 against the Shelburne Wolves.  Goals scored by Luke, Simon, Dom and Tyson, with assists by Dylan C, Dylan M, Tyler and Ryan Mc.

Day two of the tournament had the team versus the Norwich Knighthawks and again the boys played strong and finished with a 2-0 win.  Unassisted goals scored by Simon and Hunter.

Saturday was also the finals of the shoot out challenge which started with almost 130 participants from all teams - Goderich was well represented and our own #9 Luke was crowned the shoot out WINNER of the tournament! Congratulations Luke, well done!

Our first game on day three of the tournament would be the deciding factor in whether or not we would advance to finals.  We came up against the Listowel Cyclones and once again were victorious with a score of 4-1.  Goals by Dylan C, Simon and Tyson.  Onto the 'B' division championship game vs the Petrolia Oilers.  The first period was scoreless as both teams battled it out.  During the second period, Dylan C. got us on the board with our first goal.  However, the Sailors then found themselves in some penalty trouble which resulted in a 5-3 power play for the Oilers. The Sailors persevered and their penalty kill was successful without giving up a goal.  Entering into the third period, the Sailors put up two more goals by Hunter and Luke to make the score 3-0.  The Sailors were able to fend off any advances the Oilers made and with the help of some great goaltending by Dylan Mc the score remained 3-0 as the final buzzer sounded.

Many thanks to the Doug Perkes Tournament committee for putting on such a wonderfully organized and fun tournament!  Congratulations PeeWee Kinsmen LL - a true team effort was put forth!
Keep up the good work entering into the playoff rounds this weekend.
Go Sailors Go!
