I sensed some conflicting thoughts from our beloved Coach Shawn. Although, his allegiance lies with his favourite group of 9-10 year olds, the visiting team was dressed like the mighty Boston Bruins. Man, I'm sure Shawn thoughts were jumping all over the map....
Period 1:
An evenly matched first period. Solid scoring chances and stout defensive play kept the scored tied.

Period 2:
Ethan shot from point, Cody got rebound, did a 360 and snuck one by goalie.
Goderich 1-0, Cody - goal, assist to Ethan.
Goderich power play:
Solid power play, controlled puck in their zone, Ethan and Remi had shots from point.
Ethan fired his second, Cody got rebound, got it over to Jacob for Goderich's second goal.
Goderich 2-0, Jacob goal, assist to Cody and Ethan.
Welland goal brings score to 2-1

3rd period:
Highlight of the night / tournament is when Joe carried the puck down the right boards, held on to it to draw defender over, then feathered one over to Ryan to deflect one in.
Goderich 3-1, Ryan goal, assist to Joe.
Welland's late goal brings scoreboard to 3-2.
With 1:30 left Welland pulled the goalie. The sailors didn't panic and they played great defence in their zone. Welland's scoring chances were limited and the puck was regularly cleared out of the zone.
A face off in the Goderich's zone with 3.3 seconds left, last chance for Welland.

A solid victory for 'our boys in white' against the pre-tournament favourite.
