Two for Two Against the Wolves!
February 22 – Ripley
Wolves at Goderich Sailors. The Sailors met the Ripley Wolves for their second game in
the playoffs – this time with home ice advantage. The first period was a close battle, but Justin got the
Sailors on the score board off a set-up from David to end the period 1-0. Ripley landed 2 goals in the second
period, but those were answered by 3 for the Sailors - the first going to Alex
off an assist from Braeden and Snowden; the second was a nice shot by Lucas of
assists from Tristan and Tyler; and the third went to Justin on a beautiful set-up
from Alex and Rory. Starting the
third period with a 4-2 lead, the Wolves continued to battle back and once
again landed 2 goals in the period.
Alex landed his second of the game off a nice set-up by Justin and Nathan. The highlight of the game had to be Nathan’s coast to coast shot and goal on Ripley’s empty net after they pulled their goalie (great aim Nate!) Mike made some superb saves during the game to keep the Wolves at bay. Once again Riply made the Sailors work for the win, with the 6-4 victory marking the fourth win in a row for the Sailors!
