Novice Rep, U8, 2010-2011 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

The Sailors traveled to Elmvale for their year end tournament in an "A" level competition and Coach Hewy is very happy to say that the Sailors played their best hockey of the year in this tournament and the parents and Coaching staff are very proud of the Novice Rep Sailors!!!! Even though we lost our final two games, the Sailors played hard at this tournament with some excellent Goal tending by "50 cent", awesome defensive play and lastly our forwards played phenomenal hockey 

The Novice Sailors skated into Listowel for an one day tournament after a tough playoff with Mitchell and Mount Forest. The Sailors had a tough game against the eventual "A" winners in St Mary's, then played strong against Listowel in the semi finals winning 8-2! Then the Sailors played an awesome team game against Wallaceburg to win 4-3 in overtime capping off a great day for the Sailors!!!! Coach Hewy is very proud of his team as they skated hard and out worked their oppontents for the last two games and came away at "B" Champs!!! Congratulations!!!

The Sailors had a very hard fought series against a strong Saugeen Shores team and in Game #6 came away with a 5-2 victory!!! The Sailors played very well in their last two games against the Storm with a number of players hitting the score sheet, strong defense and excellent goaltending!! We are now in a round robin series with two very strong teams in Mount Forest and Mitchell. The Sailors will have to play their best hockey against these two teams if we are to advance to the finals!!!! Go Sailors!!!

The Sailors find themselves with their backs up against the wall against the Saugeen Shores Storm. In the 6 point series, the Storm have 5 points with the Sailors only having 3 points. We play here in Goderich on Wednesday at 6:00pm and then if needed, game #6 will be in Southampton on Thursday at 7:30pm. The Sailors will have to play hard for 3 full periods in their next games to come away with any victories and will have to be very hard on the puck!!!! Go Sailors!!!

The Sailors travelled to Port Elgin to play the Storm in game #2 of the series. The Storm came out strong and out worked the Sailors for the two periods getting a 4 goal lead. The Sailors played better in the third and the Storm Goalie made some great saves to keep them ahead. The Sailors will have to be harder on the puck if we are to beat this strong team from Saugeen Shores.
