Saugeen Shores Tourney a Success
Even though the bantam rep team missed the finals by one goal it was a very successful
weekend.

The team started out by losing a close game to Hanover 3-2. The Sailors only took two penalties all game but Hanover
was able to capitalize on those and scored two PP goals.
The boys bounced back though and Saturday night played a very strong game against Woolwich coming away
with a 5-2 win. Agan, very disciplined hockey saw the bantams take only two penalties and were complimented
by the referee and the convenor on how disciplined they were.
Game 3 saw a pumped up team play a very strong game against a tough opponent. It was end to end action
and shot after shot, including two posts and two crossbars. Eventually Goderich came out on top 4-3 but
with the math formula, needed one more goal to tie Kincardine in points and advance to the finals.
Kincardine fell to Strathroy 4-2 in the finals. So if Goderich had advanced...???
It was a superb team effort, even with a short bench on Sunday. Way to go Sailors!
