Notes
The MRC was filled with excitement for this very entertaining exhibition game against Blyth/Brussels. The Sailors found themselves down 2-0 after the first period on a couple of Blyth/Brussels powerplay goals.
The Sailors fought back in the second period tying the score at two apiece with goals from Owen McGee assisted from Luke Evans and Justin MacLeod. The second Sailors goal was scored from a blast from the point from Brady Frasier assisted by Mason Phillips and Luke Evans. Blyth/Brussels scored with six minutes left in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
The Sailors scored three minutes into the third period on a nice breakout goal from Nolan Wilson assisted by Mason Phillips and Logan Karges.
This was the first real hockey for the majority of the players in 18 months. The game was fast and physical with a playoff type atmosphere.
