Home Town Hero
9 years is a long time; a lifetime for some, but in the case of the father/son team of Mike and Lincoln Zondag it was the time needed to nurture two exquisite manes to be donated to Pantene for those in need.
For Lincoln, a 6 year old Tyke hockey player for GMHI, this was his first ever hair cut.
“Lincoln has never had his hair cut,” beamed Lincoln’s mother Barb. “He wanted to donate his hair in May but it wasn’t quite long enough, so now that it is he has donated it to Pantene."
This is quite an intimate gift for a 6 year old to make to strangers. Not to be out-done, his father Mike joined in on his son’s ambitions. “This is Mike’s first hair cut in 9 years,” Barb goes on to say.” He has donated it before, but he figured he could help someone too so they did it together.”
Tyke 1 coach Brandon Corriveau was impressed with his young player initiative. “You don’t see this type of generosity out of a 6 year old everyday. I couldn’t be more proud to have this family not only involved with our team, but our organization.”
Because of their incredible gift of themselves this holiday season Mike and Lincoln will be named GMHI’s Tyke Home Team Hero.
