Sailors Win Big in First League Game!
It was a wild Sunday afternoon at the Memorial Area as the #1 Novice LL Sailors clapped out a 9-1 win over the Zurich Thunder. With plenty to cheer about, the Sailors skated hard and passed the puck, making for a strong team win.
Standing tall in the Goderich goal was Alex Noel, whose shutout bid was broken with only 50 seconds left in the game. Turning in strong defensive play were Keegan Greer, Joey Craig, Wade Rau and Aidan Austin. On the offensive side of the score sheet, almost all team members recorded a point in the game. Daerien Rivers lead the team in helpers with 4 assists. Benefitting from her good passing were linemates Kaleb Connelly, who scored 3 goals, and Owen Shore with one. The Sailors other line scored the remainder of the team's goals, with Teethal Patel scoring 3 and Kaden Bell with 2. Jensen Paola added 2 assists. Congratulations Sailors on a great start to the season! The team will play next when they host the Seaforth Stars Sunday October 30th. Game time is 3:30 pm.
