Midget Rep, U18, 2010-2011 (Goderich Minor Hockey)

Goderich Midgets will be looking to get back into their first round playoff serious against Listowel on Sunday after losing the first two games 5-0 and 4-2 respectively. With a full squad and the top line rolling we hope that the red lamp will be lit a little more regularly. Bad luck fell apon Jeff (Curly) Gordon when he went down in the second game with a broken wrist. if the kids stay focused and keep their mussels on I believe we are the better team maybe the return on Zach Mclean at Thursdays practice will bring the team the boost we are looking for.. The Midget boys are off to play Minto at 8:00am Saturday hopefully its a good warm up for our playoff run. Attendance has been a problem as of late, so a few games sure cant hurt.. Good Luck guys and have fun..

The loss came to Milverton 3-2, Goderich was short manned with only 9 skaters and a crazy ref to boot! Things settled down on the penalty front in the second period and the guys went back to work the closest the came was within one, Zac Lamb and Curly Gordon had two points each Lamb goal and assist Gordon two assists. The Midget boys are 1-1 in there last 2 games, beating BCH 3-2 with a come from behind win in the third period. Scott Gordon opened the scoring for Goderich with the assists going to captain Joe Whitley and brother Jeff (curly) Gordon. Joe then tied the game on a great solo effort snapping the puck through the d-mans legs and barrying it in the mesh. Zac Lamb potted the winner on a mad scramble arund the net with 1:03 remaining on the clock. Joe Whitley led the attack this night with three points a goal and two assists

The Midget boys laced up there skates against C4th tonight in a well played game. Due to weather and holidays they hadn't hit the ice in game mode for a while, the C4th squad out hustled Goderich for most of the game but Goderich pulled even late in the 2nd period on a deflected point shot from Ed Brunk his 2nd of the year. They must of left there legs in the room at intermission because they lost the 3rd period 3-0 for a 6-3 loss Duckworth picked up his 13th goal and Scott Gordon added his 7th of the year.
