Exciting hockey in Paisley
The Novice Sailors entered last minute into the Paisley tournament on Jan 15th. They first played against Chatsworth and won that game 3-0 nothing with the shutout going to Evan B. The second game saw the Sailors have trouble with one of the Bruce Pennisula players who scored all of their goals. At one point in the game the Sailors were down 5-1 and then clawed back and came away with a 7-6 victory. In the A final the Sailors came up against the Hanover Falcons and at one point we were up 3-1 looking strong.
Hanover then came back to tie the game with the Sailors out shooting the Falcons by a substantial amount and some breakaways that were stopped by the strong Hanover goalie. After 5 minutes of over time, we went to the shootout with the Falcons getting one goal by our Goalie and none of the Sailors could solve the Hanover netminder. Overall the Sailors had a great time in Paisley and we are all glad that we made it home safe and sound!!
