Sailors go 1 and 1 on the weekend
First game of the weekend was against Mitchell with the Sailors coming out on top 6-2.On Sunday we travelled to Listowel to take on the top team and came away with a 5-3 loss in a hard fought game.
On Saturday James Zolob opened the scoring with assists going to Callum Robinson and Tyson Kovats.David Fincher scored a short time after on a pass from the corner from Kyle Stanbury and Ethan Hewitt.Kyle Stanbury scored our third goal of the period on a pass from Kaden Hoggarth.Giving the Sailors a 3-1 lead after one period of play.Stanbury added another goal in the second with assists going to David Fincher and Josh Bakker.Giving the Sailors a 4-1 lead going into the third period.Mark Morris added to the lead early in the third on a pass from David Fincher and Kaden Hoggarth finished the scoring roofing a shot over the goalies shoulder with assist going to Ethan Hewitt.Mithchell scored late making it a 6-2 final.Great team effort.
On Sunday the Sailors caught Listowel off guard early jumping out to a 2-0 after one period on goals by Carter Thomlinson and Callum Robinson with assists going to Kyle Stanbury (2) and James Zolob. Listowel battled back scoring three unanswered goals in the second. Which proved to be a very hard fought battle in the third Listowel scored two more times to our one goal by Kyle Stanbury assisted by Keltie Talbot and James Zolob.The Sailors came out on the losing end but played a very good positional game and had their chances.Keep up the great work team.
