Silver Stick in Kincardine
After a slow start Sailors rebound to make it the to Finals at Silver Stick In Kincardine.

The Sailors started Silver Stick with a match against Kincardine Kinucks.Sailors started the scoring on a goal by Kyle Stanbury assisted by Josh Larkin.Kincardine answered right back tieing the game at 1.Kyle Stanbury scored his second of the period giving the Sailors a 2-1 lead going into the second period.Kincardine tied the game up part way through the period,but Carter Thomlinson scored with assists going to Kaden Hoggarth and Josh Bakker.James Zolob extended the lead to 4-2 on a pass from Mark Morris. In a hard fought third period Kincardine scored 2 unanswered goals to pull even at 4's.Jacob Abbott made several game saving stops to hold onto the tie.

Game two was a match against a very fast South Huron Sabre team.South Huron opened the scoring half way through the first,but Kyle Stanbury tied the game on a goal assisted by David Fincher and Josh Larkin.South Huron Scored two in the second to take a 3-1 lead into the third period.Kyle Stanbury scored a unassisted goal in third but South Huron scored three more to go on to win 6-2.Leaving the Sailors with a 0-1-1 record after the first day of action.


The Sailors returned to Ripley on Tuesday to play Mitchell in the final game of round robin needing a win and some help from South Huron to advance.South Huron did their part and beat Kincardine it was up to our team to do theirs.The Sailors proved that they weren't ready to go home just yet.With a total team effort beating Mitchell 6-0 on goals by Kyle Stanbury with 3, James Zolob, Mark Morris and Kaden Hoggarth chipping in one  piece with Josh Larkin,Mark Morris,James Zolob and Carter Thomlinson each picking up a assist.Jacob Abbott made some great saves in net, with everyone playing a hard fought game to secure the shut-out for Jacob.
Sending the Sailors to the Semi-Finals against the Wallaceburg Jr Lakers who where undefeated in round robin play.


In the Semi-Final it was end to end of exciting hockey. The score was tied at 1-1 after one period of hockey with Kyle Stanbury scoring with the assist going to Keltie Talbot.The second period was another exciting period of hockey with the score being tied 2-2 at the end of the period with Kyle Stanbury scoring for the Sailors with assist going to Keltie Talbot. The Sailors took the lead in third on a goal by Callum Robinson on a passing play from Kyle Stanbury and Tyson Kovats.The Sailors held on to the lead as Wallaceburg pulled their goalie for one last attack. Jacob Abbott made some last minute saves and our defence held strong. Sending the Sailors to the Championship game on Wednesday in Kincardine.


On Wednesday it was a rematch of their second game against the South Huron Sabres.South Huron came out ready to go jumping out to a 3-1 lead after the first period.Carter Thomlinson scored for the Sailors with assists going to Kaden Hoggarth and Kyle Stanbury.The Sailors battled back making it 4-3 game after 2 periods of play on goals by James Zolob And Cater Thomlinson with assists going to Mark Morris and Kaden Hoggarth.South Huron poured on the pressure early in the third scoring three times making it 7-3 six minutes into the period.Kyle Stanbury scored a goal with assists going to James Zolob and David Fincher with just under 5 minutes left in the third.Which seemed to put a little live in their skates. Mark Morris scored on a rebound with assists going to Carter Thomlinson and Josh Larkin just 33 sec's later. James Zolob scored with assist going to Josh Larkin with 3:08 left in the third.Making the score 7-6.The team poured it on but couldn't get the equalizer and South Huron scored with a little over a minute left to seal the win 8-6. The Sailors proved they won't quit no matter what the score is they kept battling and almost tied the game Mark Morris was given the MVP for the game.Great team effort Sailors Your Coaches are proud of each and everyone of you.Keep up the hard work
