Calling Goderich Sailors Support for the Humboldt Broncos Tragedy
Submitted By Alison Bell on Sunday, April 08, 2018
With the season wrapped up, for most families hockey is forgotten for a few months as the warm weather arrives. However, in light of the recent tragedy that has occurred in Saskatchewan, that resulted in many young hockey players and those associated with them losing their lives in a tragic bus accident; it is our request that we come together one more time as we close out the season.

When Goderich endured the tornado and the devastation it left behind, we were comforted by many communities and groups who offered their support and kindness.  It is time to pay some of that forward, to send a message of love and support our fellow hockey families who are enduring unimaginable loss.

Here is where we need the help of each and every player! Goderich Minor Hockey is sending a new Sailors jersey to Humboldt and our hope is to fill that jersey to bursting with the signatures of every single player, bench staff member, parent and volunteer within our organization.

THIS MONDAY & TUESDAY 4-6:30pm in the YMCA lobby, I will have the jersey available for signing. We hope every single Sailors family will take a minute to come and sign their name on the jersey we are all so proud of.  Let's show this devastated community that we stand by them, and we will remember with them. As a group we can show them there are so many who care. And maybe even a tiny shred of comfort will come to the friends and family of the Humboldt Broncos as they open the box to see our heartfelt message inside.  Please take the time to participate. I look forward to seeing you at the rink.

With sincere thanks,
Lorrain McBride
