McGee Motors Novice Reps Top Rams 8-0
On the 22nd day of November the Sailors traveled to Mt. Forest to face the Rams and came out with an all around team effort winning the game 8-0.

During a couple of practices the coaching staff expressed the importance of positioning and moving the puck, and it was evident that the team took this to heart and incorporated this into their game as they held the Rams to only five shots and pressured them in their own end at every stage of the game.

The Sailors scored three first period goals with some excellent puck movement and players driving the net. Goals went to Sawyer with one and Duncan with two, and assists to Dean with two and Kingston and Cohen with singles.

In the second it was more of the same as the Sailors showed their parents and coaching staff what they learned at practice as the played their positions well and pressured the Rams at every stage of the game. The Sailors scored three more goals in the middle frame for a 6-0 lead. Goals went to Sawyer with his second and third of the game and Kingston with a beauty as he drove the net. Assists went to Dean and Bronwyn.

In the third the coaching staff challenged the players to continue passing the puck and working on the little things. The McGee Motors Novice Reps were up for the challenge as the defensive tandems of Cohen and Simon along with Connor and Jacob made some great outlet passes and some pretty D to D passes as well. The Sailors were able to score two more goals in the final frame as Duncan got his third after a great chip by Dylan and an assist from Dean and Cohen scored an end to end beauty after receiving a sweet pass from Simon. Owen held the Rams off the score sheet for this third shutout of the season. Hardest Working Player of the Game helmet went to Simon for his incredible hockey sense and puck movement.

Points went to Dean (4a), Sawyer (3g), Duncan (3g), Kingston, (1g 1a), Cohen (1g 1a), Bronwyn (1a), Dylan, (1a) and Simon (1a).

The Sailors face the Cyclones of Listowel at the Maitland Recreation Centre this Saturday the 28th of November at 6:00 p.m.  Come on out and support the Novice Sailors and then stick around and watch some fast paced Junior C action at 7:00 as the Goderich Flyers host the Wingham Ironmen!!!
