Exciting Comeback Against the Tiverton Thunder!

Feb. 26 (Tiverton Thunder at Goderich Sailors)
After a close 2-1 loss to the Tiverton Thunder a week
earlier, the rematch proved to be the most exciting
game of the playoffs so far! Alex
landed the first goal of the game (assisted by Tyson C.) at the 8:55 mark of
the first period. The formidable
Thunder battled back hard and landed 3 quick goals to pull ahead 3-1 going into
the second period. The second
period was scoreless, with many close chances for the Sailors and
Tiverton. Kyle made some awesome
glove saves to keep the Thunder limited to a 3-1 lead going into the
third. The guys were determined to
fight back and were on fire throughout the third period with some outstanding
hockey by both the forwards and defensemen!
Alex landed the first goal of the third (assisted by Lucus and Scott) with 12:24 on the clock. Two minutes later Alex was set-up by Ryan and tied the game 3-3! The next seven minutes of the game was a nailbiter with numerous chances by both teams. At the 2:41 mark the Goderich fans went wild with Tyson C. landing the go ahead goal for the Sailors (assisted by Ryan). The Sailors turned up the heat even more and Alex got his fourth goal of the game (assisted by Lucus and Ryan) to close the deal with 1:22 left on the clock! In what turned out to an extremely exciting comeback, the Sailors fought back from a 3-1 deficit to win 5-3! All the guys did a great job and never quit hustling. Way to go guys!
