Another Great Year for Pee Wee Reps
The Goderich Sailors Lions Pee Wee Reps had a lot to prove this year to show that last year's success was not just a one time thing. The team had a great start to the season with a 10 game winning streak in regular season play. The boys gelled on and off the ice dedicating time to both on and off ice training that proved extremely successful.

In November the Lions Pee Wee Reps participated in 4 tournaments including their home tournament the Ryan O'Reilly Challenge Cup where the were named tournament champions. The boys put in an incredible performance against the South Bruce Blades in the championship final where every player stepped up and played their hearts out in front of a home town crowd hoisting the Stanley Cup after a 3-2 win.

After finishing the regular season off with an impressive 11 win, 3 loss, 2 tie regular season the Lions Pee Reps found themselves in the OMHA playoffs against the Hanover Falcons. The boys from Goderich proved too strong, too fast, and great goal tending moved the Sailors onto the OMHA quarter finals against their rivals from BCH.

The BCH series did not start out well for the Sailors in Game 1 getting beat 10-4 and found themselves traveling back to Goderich with a lot to think about. After the Sailors coaching staff made a couple minor changes the series became a tight, hard fought battle. Game 2 was a tight battle back and forth but the Sailors could not create enough offence and went down two games to none with a 2-1 loss. Game 3 was a different story....the Sailors played probably one of the most complete games of the season and held the high powered BCH offense off the score sheet with a 3-0 win. BCH traveled to Goderich for Game 4 where these two teams played like a couple of heavy weight boxers, giving punches and taking punches. But it was not meant to be as the Sailors lost Game 4 and were eliminated from the OMHA playoffs after a 3-1 loss.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the coaching staff of this year's team; Mark, Rob, Lee,Mike and Haley, I couldn't of done it without your help throughout the year. I would also like to thank the parent group and parent liaison, Amy for the support and enthusiasm shown to the team this year. Last but not least I would like to say thanks to the players, for all of their dedication, commitment and laughs on the bench and in the dressing room.

Last but not least I would like to congratulate the players who received awards this year. The decision making process to identify the award winners was not an easy one. Each player brought their "A" game each and every night and represented Goderich both on and off the ice with respect and professionalism.
