Lions Pee Wee Reps Advance to OMHA Semi Finals
The Goderich Lions Pee Wee Reps continue to roll advancing to the semi finals of the OMHA Playdowns with a three games to one win against the Hanover Falcons.
Game 1 saw the Sailors dominate from start to finish, winning every little puck battle and showing the Falcons their team speed and ability to move the puck. This team played a full 200 foot game in both the offensive and defensive zones winning 6-0.
However this series lead was short lived when the Lions Pee Wee Reps traveled to Hanover for Game 2. The Falcons applied pressure to the Sailors players at every opportunity and battled extremely hard tying the series up at one, with a 4-3 win.
The Lions Pee Wee Reps learned from their opening series against BCH and knew they had to get back to their game and move the puck, play as a team and control their own destiny.
Game 3 saw the boys do exactly that, playing as a team, moving the puck and firing a ton of shots on the Hanover netminder. When the Falcons did get into the Sailors defensive zone, forwards came back and helped out, the defence kept players to the outside and Owen stood tall in the pipes. Goderich took Game 3 with a 5-0 win.
Game 4 was back at the friendly confines of the Maitland Recreation Centre in front of a large home crowd. The Lions Pee Wee Reps continued their dominate play against a Hanover team that just would not quit taking the game and the series with a 3-0 win. This win punched their ticket to the OMHA Playdowns semi finals against the Ilderton Jets.
Over the next couple of weeks the Lions Pee Wee Reps will face off against the Ilderton Jets and also continue their WOAA round robin play.
