Lions Pee Wee Rep Advance to OMHA Quarter Finals!!
The Goderich Lions Pee Wee Rep's have had an incredibly successful season thus far. This group set goals for themselves at the start of the year and have been able to meet those goals through hard work, dedication and a team first attitude. One of those goals was to go undefeated throughout the regular season, which we all know is no small feat.

However with their ability to work extremely hard during both on and off ice training sessions they ended the regular season with 16 wins and 0 losses; outscoring their opponents with 140 goals for and only 19 goals against.

Throughout the season it has been incredible to watch this team become so cohesive and have the ability to sacrifice any individual accomplishments for the greater success of the team.

After receiving a bye through the first round of OMHA playoffs, the Lions Pee Wee Rep's were scheduled to face off against the BCH Ice Dogs in round two. Being that both of these teams played in separate divisions throughout the regular season there was no information or gauge to determine how this series was going to unfold.

In Game 1 the Lions Pee Wee Rep's surprised BCH with their speed, skill and ability to move the puck and skated to a 6-0 victory. However this success was short lived as BCH made the necessary adjustments in Game 2,  capitalizing on the Lions Pee Wee Rep penalty trouble and tied the series one game apiece with a 6-3 victory.

After an undefeated regular season where the Lions Pee Wee Rep team did not face a great deal of adversity, this loss was a character builder. The taste of this loss was not a sweet one for the team and they understood they needed to be better and accepted the coaches challenge to continue to put in the work to be successful.

The Lions Pee Wee Rep team dominated Game 3 from start to finish taking a 2-1 series lead with a 12-2 victory. Which set up an extremely exciting, and also nerve racking Game 4. BCH came out flying, showing the Lions Pee Wee Rep's that they were not going to go away quietly. After taking advantage of some mental mistakes, BCH lead the Lions Pee Wee Reps 5-2 halfway through the second period. However this team was not going to be outdone....battling to a 6-6 tie at the end of regulation setting up overtime. In the extra frame the Lions Pee Wee Rep team were able to get the puck in deep and win the little battles which resulted in a 7-6 victory taking the series three games to one.

The Lions Pee Wee Rep's have now advanced to the OMHA Quarter Finals against the Hanover Falcons. Come out to the Maitland Recreation Centre this Saturday, February 9th at 4:00 p.m. to cheer on this exciting group of kids attempting to attain that next goal!!!
