End of Season Wrap up
Highlights of the Teams season:
- A record of 32-13-1 .
- Champions of the Peterborough Under the Locks Tournament.
- Winners of the B Championship at the Clinton Optimist Tournament.
- 1st in the regular season in the South Division of the WOAA.
- 2nd, One game back in the South Division WOAA Playoffs.

To wrap the season I picked a favorite moment for each player. Stats at the end include all games played this season.

#2 Aidan: vs Mintos. The Dogs were mad this evening amassing 18 minutes in penalties, Aidan found open ice mid 2nd period while the Dogs were at full strength though, drove through the defense and flexed the mesh with a nice wrist shot.

#4 Joe: vs the Beamsville Bandits, getting outplayed and down 1-0 mid 2nd period against a tough team, Joe skated in and from just over the blue line found net with a long hard wrist shot. The much needed tying goal woke up and put the Sailors on the board on their way to a 4-1 win.

#5 Jack: vs Ripley, on a penalty kill, using his skill and size to advantage to keep the puck tight, rapidly changed direction while staying close to the boards or behind the net. The much larger Ripley defensemen looked like clumsy stumbling oafs while he tied the puck up in their end for almost a minute to the cheers of the crowd.

#6 Jenson: vs. Ripley. Down 4-1 going into the 3rd period against the top team in the division Jenson's two goals were the big part of the 4 goal effort bringing the Sailors within one , 5-4. His 2nd goal a classic hard work effort at the net with Nick, Jenson flipping in the 3rd rebound.

#7 Remi: vs Blyth-Brussels. On a shift change that let Remi get within 10 feet of the net, he picked the hole in the goal tenders coverage then fast accurate hands made it look easy as he snapped the puck there. Always dangerous any where in the zone an  open lane to the goalie usually spells a G O A L on Rem's stick.

#8 Nick: It was hard to choose single moment and originally I wrote my favourite thing that Nick did was step up and lead this team, especially in the many come from behind wins when he kept playing, scored the tying and or go ahead goals because of pure tenacity amazing skill and work ethic. But that's not a moment so; vs Dundalk at the Paris tournament, 15 seconds on the clock and as he had a dozen times this year just seemed to decide he was going to score, drove through the defense to the net and put in the last goal of the year with 3.5 seconds on the clock. Bookends on a season in which he also scored the teams 1st goal of the year at 11:58 of the 1st period vs Mintos.

#9 Adrian vs BCH a blistering slap shot, these always look amazing. Adrian was another player it was hard to pick a moment for as his best time on the ice was spent hustling back, playing hard , physical when necessary to repeatedly come up with the puck in the corners and get rushes going with clearing passes to the forward line.

#10 Kaden: vs The Shelburne Wolves at the Peterborough tournament. Sailors were down 3-0 against a tough physical team. He had the spirit to keep trying, fighting back, his 3-2 goal put the Sailors within one and turned the momentum on the road to the Sailors eventual 5-3 win.

#11 Cole: vs Blyth-Brussels, 4th period in overtime, a board pass comes out of the corner to Cole at the point. Cole winds up without hesitation, his blistering slap shot rings the far post and the puck drops into the net behind the goalkeeper. Woo hoo! last game of playoffs, in overtime, BOOM,, I think we all day dreamed this ending to a playoff series as a kid.

#12 Evan: vs the LeFroy Icebreakers in the final of the Peterborough Under the Docks Tournament. Skating up the side and taking the snap shot from the outside hash marks as he did 100 times this season, this time scoring the go ahead and GWG.  It turned the momentum of the game for the eventual 4-1 win of the game and tournament.

#14 Aiden: vs Mitchell. A pass up from Nick at the top of the circle. He skated across the crease was checked by the defenders lost his balance slid across ice on his butt and flipped the puck up top shelving the goalie, said after game he was laughing uncontrollably while it unexpectedly went in. Funest moment of the season.

#15 Eli: vs Drayton, His 2nd goal of a hard fought 5-4 win, stick handling after a pass up from Adrian back and forth around 2 defenders and the opposing centre to the boards then spinning around the defenders again, finally   behind the net quickly out the other side for the wrap around goal.

#17 Wade: vs Listowel, Taking the puck from Bryson who picked up an assist on the play he skated back behind the net, turned it on  and went for one of those time dilation end to end skates where the other 11 players on the ice suddenly look like they're moving in slow motion and time is standing still, except for Wade who scored.

#18 Tyler: vs Ripley , under pressure, in the slot on the open side of the net, flipped in a cross the net pass from Eli coming from behind the net, his 3rd well earned goal generated by a simple but properly executed play late in a game against a top team when the Sailors needed an uplift.

#31 Bryson: the teams anchor in net and hardest to pick a moment for from 677 saves, more than 50 that were amazing or game saving. So; versus the LeFroy Icebreakers in the final of the Peterborough under the docks tournament. Early in the 1st period LeFroy already up 1-0 and on a 3 on none rush. The Puck carrier passed across the net to the open side, Bryson somehow got the pad out to stop the nearly text book shot by the 2nd attacker. It set the tone for the 20 amazing saves he made that game.
