Sailors Battling Along
After opening the season with a convincing 8-2 win over Drayton, the Midget AE Sailors have earned three more wins and a single loss. The guys have a 4-1-0 record in WOAA play, good for second place in their division.

On November 1st they traveled to Drayton to complete the season series. The Sailors went into the game with a short bench, missing four players, and things got worse quickly when another Sailor was suspended. The guys showed a lot of heart, and a relentless fore-check, beating Drayton 7-2. Goal scorers were Noah N (x3), Alex (x2) and Andy (x2). Assists went to Andy, Cole, Noah N, and Andrew.
The next evening the Sailors hosted Listowel, and the short bench the previous day played a role. The Sailors were unable to muster any pressure on the Cyclone net, and suffered their first regular season loss, 2-0. The only highlights were some great saves by Greg.
On November 15th they were in Listowel to finish off their games with the Cyclones. Again the Sailors were short-handed, with only 10 skaters able to make the trip. This time the guys came out flying, jumping to an early lead and never looking back. Noah N led the attack with his second hattrick of the year, while Darren, Cole, Noah C, and Andy also scored in a 7-2 win. Assists went to Daniel (x3), Noah N (x2), Alex, and Brian.
On November 16th they hosted Walkerton. The big win the previous day over the Cyclones, with a short bench, took some of the jump out of the Sailors. They came out sluggish, and couldn't seem to get any kind of flow going. Ryan scored two goals on determination and hard work, Braeden drilled home a rebound, and Noah N showed great hands on a deke, and the Sailors managed a 4-1 win. Assists went to Ryan, Darren and Alex.
The Midget AE Sailors are on the road for their next two WOAA games, returning home Thursday December 3rd, when they host the Kincardine Kinucks at 8:15 at the Maitland Recreational Centre.
