Sailors Beat Ice Dogs for Seventh Victory in a Row
The PeeWee Scotiabank LL2 won their 7th
regulation game in a row this past Sunday at the Memorial Arena when they
defeated the BCH Ice Dogs 8-2. The scoring
opened early in the first period on a high-light reel goal by Remi W after he
dipsy-doodled around the BCH “D” and absolutely roofed his wrist shot right up
where they keep the peanut butter (assists went to Joey C and Daerien R). Speaking of Daerien – she ended up with four
assists in the game – nice work! The
second goal of the period came on an unassisted effort by Jack L. The third goal of the first period was another
trademark howitzer by Spenser W (assisted by Remi W and Daerien R).
The second period began with the first of three back-to-back goals scored by Captain Jack in what would end up being a five-point game for the Captain (assists on Jack’s three goals went to Aidan A, Kaleb C, Daerien R, Aidan D and Joey C). I hope Jack remembers what he had for lunch so he can repeat that pre-game ritual for the rest of the season.
The seventh goal of the game was scored by Joey C (assisted by Captain Jack). Joey had an impressive three-point game. Finally, the scoring ended they way it started - on a nice goal by Remi W (assisted by Daerien R). All in all the Sailors played a good game with a solid defensive effort and strong goal-tending by Grayson O who shut down a couple of BCH hopefuls as they came in on break-aways. Grayson made key saves early in the third period when there was a lull by the Sailors – had BCH scored on those attempts it would have been a very different game. Nice work D.
