Kinsmen Peewee Sailors Win the Lisa Dalpe Memorial Tournament
From January 8-10, 2016 the Kinsmen Peewee Sailors traveled to Paris Ontario with 400 other young players with orange tape on their hockey sticks to participate in the PMHA Wollfpack tournament renamed this year as The Lisa Dalpe Memorial Tournament.

8:30 Friday evening the Sailors Faced off against the hometown Paris team. Dominating this game as they would the tournament the Sailors won their 1st game 5-1. Kaden had the 1st goal of the game, Nick had the hat trick, Eric a pair of assists in what would be the start of a team leading 8 assists in the series and Alex a solo effort goal.
 
Their 2nd Game 1:30 Saturday was against Niagara Falls who they would meet again in the Final game. Nick opened the scoring early with a pair of goals one and two minutes into the 1st. Owen closed the 1st. The 2nd period saw scores at 9:30 and 1:11 by Eric and Alex with Adam putting his blistering slap shot in from the point to close the 2nd period. Niagara played a hard physical game but the Sailors speed, great passing, fast defence and solid Goal tending had them ahead 6-1 going into the 3rd. With 11 skaters on a big rink the Sailors never stopped skating their best but 14 pairs of fresher legs let the Niagara team skate with Goderich for the later part of the 3rd and put 2 goals in the net, Ben played a great game being called on to stop a lot of good shots throughout the game,final 6-3 Goderich.
 
Sunday started early with the 1st of three games at 8:00am against Hanover. The Sailors would dominate the Falcons 7-0, Ben picking up the shutout. Luke had a hat trick, Aiden a pair of goals and an assist, Nick and Owen the other two goals between them. Eric had 3 assists and Wade a pair, Alex , Kaden and Adam also helping out.
 
The Sailors won their division with 28 of a possible 30 points. The top two teams in each division moved on with the 1st place team in each division playing the 2nd place team in the other.
 
With just an hour and a half rest Goderich faced Southpoint in the Semi-final. The Sailors scored early and often with 4 goals in a great 1st period from Eric, Luke and a pair from Owen. Alex assisted on two Wade and Eric getting the other helpers. Southpoints hard working defense got more organized, fore checked better and held the hard working Sailors to a single goal in the 2nd, with Owen diving and falling across the net but flipping a wrist shot up and in while still in mid air. The Sailors pushed hard adding 2 more in the third from Kaden and Nick winning 7-1. Goderich moved on to the final at 2:00 PMagainst Niagara Falls who had defeated East Lambton 7-3 in the other semi-final.
 
The final game saw both teams playing their best in this rematch from the 1st face off. Niagara scored early in the 1st. A back and forth period ensued with good passing and forechecking by both teams, Owen found the net for the Sailors with 49 seconds left in the 1st. Nick scored early in the 2nd and the Sailors never looked back. With only two forward lines vs Niagara's three, the Sailors dug deep and out skated the Orangemen this time till the end of game. Both Nick and Owen picked up hat tricks with Aiden scoring the final goal of the Game and tournament at 1:13 of the 3rd. Final 7-2 Goderich.

Congratulations team, in the words of the other teams at the tournament, you were a great little team, who not only played their hearts out, but played smart and played fair.
