Goderich
hosted the Seaforth Stars Saturday at the Maitland Recreational Centre. The
Sailors dominated this hi scoring game from the 1st whistle, three of them
having a four point game with 8 different goal scorers.
Nick had the hat trick, opening the scoring with a smart pass up from Wade. In front of the net in great position, both his other goals were assisted by Aiden's centering passes from the corner. Passing across the net to Kaden on the open side earned him the assist and point four. Out front in good position Kaden's 2nd goal was assisted by Eric's pass from behind the net. A pass across the net to Owen on the open side and getting things started in the corner added two assists for him. Aiden stole the puck at center after the opening face off in the 2nd and skated it in for an unassisted goal. Putting the puck on Kate's stick out front from behind the net made him the 3rd Sailor with a 4 point afternoon.
With the coaching staff swapping the defence and forward positions for the last 5 minutes of the game, Kate's goal , digging in close at the net and putting in her own rebound along with two earlier assists made a 3 point game for her. Earlier Owen added 2 more goals putting in Wades rebound and a good effort skating it in from the blue line after a great pass up from Adam. Owen along with Kate and Luke, with 3 assists, had 3 point games.
A nice tic tac toe goal after the pass up from Kate , Eric and Alex skated in together, Alex made the smart pass to Eric on the open side who popped it in. Alex got on the board earlier skating it in and working hard at the net to put in his own rebound. Wade also scooted a hopper past the Seaforth net minder assisted by Luke. Ben played yet another solid game anchoring the Sailors shutout 13-0.
The sailors travel to Listowel Monday night to play the Cyclones at 7:45 pm. Come out and cheer them on!
