The Sailors arrived in Clifford for their 1st game against Bruce Peninsula drawing the later 11:00 timeslot. They came out sleepy despite not having to be on the road before the sun rose but this game was anything but a snooze. #4 would score and pick up the assist for the the Bruce teams two goals scored on the sluggish Sailors in the 1st period, Tyler in net managing to keep the game from running away. The boys came out in the 2nd strong and finally playing with intensity Aiden stole the puck deep in the Bruce zone, a quick pass across the net put it on Jacks stick on the open side who got the Sailors on the board at 8:59. 35 seconds later Evan made the play from behind the net passing to Kaden out front, Kaden took the shot , Evan skating out popped in the rebound assisting on his own goal. Remi scored the go ahead goal at 5:44 skating it in unassisted and putting the hard wrist shot just under the cross bar. Going into the 3rd period up 3-2 Remi would increase the Sailor lead at 13:32 skating it from behind the blue line all the way with another hard high wrist shot that was on the mark this day. #4 for the Bruce Team put one past Tyler at 11:44 cutting the Sailor lead to 4-3. Fighting back Jack passed from the corner  out to Aiden at the hash marks, the Bruce goalie got a piece of the hard high slapshot but the puck still flexed the mesh in the back of the net, 5-3 Sailors. #4 found wheels and put in two quick goals at 7:48 and 7:39 on a 5 goal 6 point night, and suddenly it was tied up at 5-5. With 2:07 left the Bruce team put one more in the Sailor net for the go ahead 6-5. The Sailors short on time weren't sunk yet , Remi stole the puck and put another hard fast wrist shot under the cross bar for the Hatrick  with a minute seven left , 6-6 and the boys went to overtime. Some more great hockey ensued as the two evenly matched teams fought back and forth through most of the 1st, several scoring opportunities and great saves for both sides till Goderich scored late at 3:11, Aiden from the corner to Remi whose wrist shot was on the mark all day. The Wellington team fought back scoring at 1:19 , and their #8  Player closed the 1st period the sailors down 2-1 by scoring at 0:57. In the second period Remi put the puck up to Jack who took the shot evening the score at 5:29. The team had a lot of fun, played their best hockey of the season, the new forward lines congealing together, the defense hustling for the puck and doing a great job of clearing the puck and rebounds with solid goal tending anchoring these Sailors.
