Tough Game
Sunday afternoon the Goderich Sailors Zehrs Markets Atom team travelled to Wingham to take on the Ironmen in a regular season matchup. With the teams previously ending tied 2-2 last weekend in an exhibition, both clubs were looking for the win above their foes.
Goderich was able to hold Wingham off the scoreboard through the first period to remain tied 0-0. That would change two minutes into the second as Wingham began their barrage of goals, scoring three in the second and three more in the third, enabling them to skate off the ice to a 6-0 win.
Although the score wasn't as nice as the Sailors had hoped, the team did battle hard and created a few scoring chances of their own, the Ironmen were just too much to handle this game.
Next game for Goderich is Thursday night when they head to Clinton to take on the BCH Ice Dogs at 7:00.
