After a previous ice “melt down” against
BCH, the Goderich Community Credit Union
Atoms were ready to hit the ice for a
rematch against the BCH Ice Dogs.
BCH was feeling generous in the first
period when a rebound off an Ice Dogs stick made its way into their own
net-putting the Sailors on the board.
Goderich continued on a scoring streak of their own in the second with goals by Evan M and Kaleb C-assists going to Wilder H and Mitchell H.
With Goderich leading 3-2 heading into the third it was time for Ben G to put on a show in the net. With skill and luck between the pipes, Ben saved multiple shots and had a lucky goal post – as shots slid through the crease but never made it over the goal line.
With 5:52 left in the game the Ice Dogs would tie the game up and despite Goderich’s power play effort at the end of the game the score would remain tied
The Sailors will be on the road this weekend with games in Walkerton and Mount Forest.
