After a decisive
loss to the Kincardine Kinucks on Friday night the Goderich Community Credit
Union Atom Rep team were ready to show the Walkerton Capitols that they were
ready for a win!
Kaleb C tallied one on the scoreboard assisted by Jacob L early in the first period to pump up the Sailors. 5 minutes later defencemen Eric M took a hard shot from the blueline that found the back of the Walkerton net, assisted by Jacob L
Walkerton was able to sneak one by the goalie late in the first ending the period with Goderich up 2-1
The Capitals were able to shut Goderich’s scoring down in the second and tie up the score 2-2 going into the third.
With 5 minutes left in the game defencemen Alex N was able to fire one by the Capitals goalie to put Goderich ahead 3-2.
Goderich was close to clinching the win but with 2 minutes left in the game Walkerton was able to capitalize and score the tying goal.
Goaltender Eric V had a stellar performance between the pipes keeping the game close and giving his team a chance to win.
Goderich will face the BCH ice dogs this Friday night at the YMCA
