WOAA "GRAND" Champions!!
The LH Jenkins Bantam Rep Sailors finished their season off in style by capturing the WOAA Grand Championship title with a 5-1 victory over the South Bruce Monarchs. In a 4 point sweep of the current International Silver Stick and OMHA Champs, the boys proved to many that they have the passion, desire and talent to be called "Champions"!

In game 1 of the series, the Sailors broke a scoreless draw with 6 minutes remaining in the second period on a goal by Jared Cox with the helper going to Chris Govier. The score remained 1-0 until Darren Lockie scored a beautiful goal with only 1:27 remaining in the third period to give the Sailors some much needed "breathing room". In the end, the score remained 2-0 with Noah Smith becoming the first goaltender this season to shut out the Monarchs.
Last night at the MRC was a very different story. The Sailors "big goal man" Nathan Helesic opened the scoring 47 seconds into the game to set the tone. That was then followed by 2 goals from Cody Treble, one from Darren Lockie and then another by Treble to complete his hat trick. Helpers on the Sailor's 5 goal outburst were credited to Jared Cox with 4, Helesic with 2, Jack Morris, Liam Armstrong and Cameron Brenner. Noah Smith was once again very solid between the pipes for the Sailors.
In the end, this group of young men ended their season with a 10 game playoff winning streak where they outscored some very talented opposition 51-8 to be rightfully crowned the best of 22 Bantam Rep teams in the Western Ontario Athletic Association. Obviously, this type of feat takes an entire team effort. The other players aside from those mentioned above are as follows:Mitchell Fisher, Jackson Million, Bayden Parent and Chad Treble. Thanks for a tremendous season guys! It was an absolute pleasure to coach such a respectful and dedicated group of young men.
