Sailors fall short in OMHA playoffs
The Goderich Lions Pee-Wee rep team started their OMHA playdowns against Mt Forest on Jan 26 at the Memorial Arena. The Sailors came out strong in the first game skating to a scoreless first period. Mt. Forest took advantage of a couple of penalties early in the second period scoring two quick goals. James opened up the scoring for the Sailors on a beauty of a short handed goal at 4:24 of the second period with assists going to Carter and Tyler. The boys came out slow in the third allowing Mt Forest to score 30 seconds into the third. The Sailors continued to battle but Mt Forest added the insurance goal with 7 minutes left. Mt Forest won 4-1.


On Tuesday Jan 28 the Sailors travelled to Mt Forest for game two. Mt. Forest won this game 4-0.
Game three was a great game at home. The game was end to end action till Mt Forest opened the scoring with 4 minutes left in the second period. The boys continue to battle playing their best game of the series but couldn’t get a bounce to go our way. Mt. Forest went on to win 2-0 eliminating to Sailors from OMHA Playdowns.
The Sailors will continue in WOAA playoffs.
