Lions Peewee Sailors starting to find their groove
Sailors travelled to Blyth Wednesday evening where they faced off against the Blyth/Brussels squad.
The Sailors came out flying and kept the first period scoreless.
Mark assisted by Ethan H put us on the board only to have Blyth/Brussels answer back a minute later for a 1-1 tie going into the 3rd period.
The third period Blyth/Brussels put us down by 2. With 3 minutes left, Carter assisted by Caden put us within 1 for a 3-2 score.
Despite pulling out all the stops in the final minutes of play, Blyth/Brussels sealed the deal with 7 seconds left with an empty net goal resulting in a 4-2 loss.
Sailors are starting to find their groove. Teamwork, passing, offense and defense are all starting to show.
Sometimes the hockey Gods just aren’t on your side with 2 goals scored by the Sailors waved off.
