Sailors Still Finding their Groove
November 8 and 9 – 58th Mitchell Pee Wee Tournament

The Sailors continued to seek their winning formula at the Mitchell Pee Wee Tournament, with one tie and two losses. In a hard fought battle against Stayner, the boys managed to keep things close in their first game with a 1-1 tie off a nice top shelf shot by Carter (assisted by James). Unfortunately, the rough play of the Stayner team resulted in an injury to Kyle who was missed on defense for the next two games.

The second game paired the Sailors against the (rather tall) South Bruce team. Despite a couple of nice goals by David and Carter (with assists by Mark, Caden and Justin), the match ended 7-2 in favour of South Bruce.

The final game against Ilderton was also an uphill 5-1 battle with the Sailors’ one goal going unassisted to Mark on a nice rush and shot on net.

Both Jacob and Bryson were strong between the pipes - despite the odds and number of shots from the opposing teams.

All in all, the boys showed that they have the talent and ability to come together as a team – but still need some more time and practice to find their groove.

Let’s keep working hard Sailors!
