Sailors Make it Two in a Row in Keady
On February 23, 2014, the Goderich Sailors pulled out their atlas and travelled 1hour and 44 mins (135 kilometers) north to Keady to face the TCDMHA in a playoff game. The Sailors sailed out of Keady with a 2-0 victory.
"Breaker…breaker…this is the Snowman. Bandit do ya got your ears on? I got a long way to go and a short time to get there but we'll do something they say can't be done!"
Although the Sailors took some time to get their legs under them in the first period they were able to outshoot the TCDMHA team 9-5. In the second period, Goderich finally got on the score board when Eli took a pass from Alex and blew the puck by the TCDMHA goalie giving the Sailors a 1-0 lead heading into the third period. Just 1.5 minutes into the third period, Wade carried the puck over the blue line and fired the puck on net where Kaden was visiting his office in front of the goalie and cashed in going top shelf right be side the peanut butter.
The Sailors were once again able to provide their goalie with enough goal support to allow Eric to feel comfortable in stopping all 22 shots he faced in order to grab the shutout.
