Busy Weekend for Garb and Gear Sailors
It was a busy weekend for the sailors with back to back games on March 1st & 2nd.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Clinton for a hard fought game against the Ice Dogs.

Outstanding performance by goalie Jakob to hold a shutout until 8:32 in the 3rd when Clinton found the mark.

The Sailors pulled out all the stops and pulled the goalie but their many great chances, could not slip the puck in the Ice Dog’s net.

Sunday saw the Sailors travelled to Moncton to play their most exciting game of the year against the Mitchell Meteors.

The Meteors were first to score with 4:15 left in the 1st period on a power play. Sailors continued to work hard in the 2nd period fighting for the puck but were held off the score board by a strong performance by the Meteors goalie.

The Meteors got 2 quick goals in the 2nd at 4:40 and 4:15.

Sailors continued to work hard in the 3rd period and their hard efforts were finally rewarded @ 8:55 with a goal from Nolan.

With under 2 minutes remaining, Goderich called a time out and pulled the goalie.

Sailors kept parents and coaches on edge as Jaden scored with 51.9 seconds left.

Sailors kept up their efforts and Graham got his birthday goal by a pass from Jaden @ 22.1 seconds to tie the game at 3-3.

Into overtime…

Sailors had some great chances but it was Mitchell who scored first @ 8:24 into overtime to take the win.

These were 2 of the Sailors best played games of the year with great efforts by all players.

Lets hope the momentum carries on to their final game on Saturday March 8th where they face off against Wingham Ironmen.

Go Sailors, Go !!!!
