First Playoff Game Against BCH Nets Win!
February 23 – Goderich
Sailors at BCH Ice Dogs. The Sailors travelled to Clinton for their first playoff
match against the BCH Ice Dogs with the strong goaltending of the BCH team on
their minds. David got the scoring
started with a nice breakthrough the BCH defense to land a top shelf goal off
an assist by Nathan. Alex landed
the second goal for the Sailors off a nice set-up from Justin to end the first
period 2-0. The second period started
with a nice unassisted backhand shot by Alex to make it 3-0. The Ice Dogs landed 2 goals of their
own in the second period, but those were answered by Justin on a sneaky deke
and Alex on a tip-in goal off a set-up from Snowden.
The third period started 5-2 in Goderich’s favour and Tristan put things to 6-2 on a nice breakaway goal. Justin got his second of the game by weaving through a couple of BCH players to land a bar down goal. BCH answered back with a goal of their own, but David sealed the deal for the Sailors after threading through 4 BCH players to secure the final 8-3 score for the Sailors. Tom made some awesome saves throughout the game and was backed-up with some strong defense from Nathan, Braeden, Josh and Rory. This makes 5 for 5 playoff wins for the Sailors – keep it going boys!
