A Measure of Our Improvement
Not all losses are a defeat. As much can be said of our final exhibition game of the season against the BCH Ice Dogs, held on October 6 at Clinton’s Eastlink Arena.

Having met the Ice Dogs in our first exhibition game of the year (during tryouts) where the Novice Rep Sailors were soundly beaten, a greatly improved Sailor team made a much more challenging game for the BCH team this time around. The Sailors were held goalless in the game, but the Sailor’s defensive lines held the Ice Dogs to just 6 goals in the game, cutting the number of goals scored by the Ice Dogs significantly compared to their first meeting. Great work boys!
The stars of the game for the Sailors were our goaltenders who shared the net minding duties 50/50 as planned by our coaches.
Jordan H. strapped on the pads for the Sailors for the first half of the game, and made some great saves and bounced back very well after taking a hard shot to the upper body. Nice work Jordan, way to be tough!  The second half of the game saw Ben G. do a great job between the pipes, making some acrobatic saves to hold off a tough opponent. Final Score, 6-0 for BCH.
Coaches were happy with the team effort and Coach Bill emphasized that cutting the goals-against by such a large margin against a tough team in such a short time is something to be proud of. This game was a real measure of how far and how fast our team has progressed, and shown where more improvements can be made. Great work Team, your hard work at practice is paying off – keep it up!
A special thank you is extended to Ethan C. and his family for inviting the Novice Rep Sailors to a meet-and-greet at their home after last Friday’s practice. Thank you so much for hosting a great gathering!
