Kinsmen AE Back In Winning Ways
On Sunday December 11th, the Sailors were home to the Zurich Thunder, minus 3 players, Troy, Ryan and Tristan. With the help of 4 of the APs, they were able to come away with a 5-4 win, and awake from their Silver Stick hangover.

Chris opened up the scoring for the Sailors, when he corralled a rebound of Braeden's shot, and beat the Thunder goalie. Zurich tied it up a couple of minutes later, and late in the period, the Sailors found themselves in penalty trouble, but were able to kill a 5 on 3. Early in the second period, great fore-checking pressure led to another rebound goal, this time Mitchell found the net, assisted by Owain and Noah. Zurich tied it up with just under 4 minutes left in the second period, but Luc A was able to put the Sailors back in the lead, when he put one just inside the near post on a breakaway. The second period ended 3-2 for Goderich. Less than a minute into the third, Justin showed great soccer skills, kicking a pass up to Noah who picked the top corner on the power play to stretch the lead to 2 goals. Zurich fought back with 2 goals of their own, to tie the score at 4-4. With just over 2 minutes left, Kyle picked up a loose puck at the Zurich blue line, and fired a slap shot toward the net, Braeden tipped it by the Thunder goalie for the eventual winner. Final score 5-4 for the Sailors.
The Sailors are on the road Wednesday in Mitchell, and Saturday in Elma Logan, before they return home to face Blyth/Brussels next Sunday at Memorial Arena. Thanks to our APs, Luc, Tyson, Tyler and Liam for their hard work today.
