Back to Back Wins for the Sailors!
December 16/17.  The Sailors celebrated a winning weekend of hockey with back to back victories against Blyth/Brussels and Wingham!  The first showdown was against Blyth/Brussels with Goderich having home ice advantage.  Jack got things going less than a minute into the game with the first goal of the game (assisted by Paige).  However, Blyth/Brussels struck back less than a minute later to tie things at 1-1.  Ethan put the Sailors back in the lead with a beautiful goal (assisted by Remi) at the 6:40 mark.  Blyth very nearly put another goal on the board in the second period – but were shutdown by an amazing glove save by Grayson!

With 3:00 minutes left Jack landed his second goal of the game (assisted by Dylan) to end the period 3-1.  Half way through the third period Blyth/Brussels narrowed the score to 3-2 - until Jack got a hat trick goal (assisted by Connor) to put the Sailors back to a 2 point lead.  The Sailors defensive line and Grayson held Blyth/Brussels to a 2 goal game – and Cody landed a breakaway goal for Goderich with 9 seconds on the clock to secure the win at 5-2!

The second game of the weekend had the Sailors traveling to Wingham to face-off against the Ironmen.  Like the game the night before, the kids displayed superb teamwork, back checking and passing to secure a decisive 7-0 win!  Cody landed 5 of the 7 goals, with Jack picking-up the other 2 goals.  Assists of the game went to Joseph, Jack, Jacob, Ethan, Evan and Paige.  The defensive line also did an awesome job holding the blue line and defending their own end zone.  Grayson landed a much deserved shutout with outstanding goaltending throughout the game!  All and all, it was a great weekend of hockey – Go Sailors Go!
