Lions PeeWee Rep Sailors on a Roll
The Lions Peewee Rep team has started there WOAA round robin playdowns with big wins over Saugeen Shores 4-1 at home and a convincing 7-1 win over Bruce Peninsula in Wiarton.

This past weekend they faced off at home against Hanover in a game that didn't start the way the home team would have liked going down by two goals before storming back on great goals by Liam Armstrong with the assists going to Mitchell Fisher and Tyler Johnston followed by a goal off the stick of Dominic Burbine with the lone assist going to Tyler Dickson. Not giving up Hanover would regain the lead by one in the third. Hard work for the Sailors would pay off later in the period with a tying goal from Kody Langlois with the assists going to Darren Lockie and Tyler Dickson. This would set up overtime and wow what action end to end with both Zach Smith and the Hanover goalie making great stops to keep the game knotted at 3, until a great pass from the corner out to the blueline where Kyle Langlois would blast a shot that would be deflected by Mitchell Fisher with less than 1 minute to play. Seeing the team come back was great.

Then it was off to Mount Forest where things didn't start much better for the Sailors. Despite getting great goaltending from Branden Bean the team would find themselves two goals down after two periods of play.  It was a different Sailors team the came out of the dressing room in the third period with great fast skating and hard work, the team would pull within one goal as Kody Langlois scored 1:30 second into the period with an assist going to Kyle Langlois. Continuing the hard work from all lines they would pull even with just over 4 minutes to play. With more great effort from the forwards and defence and the goaltending the Sailors would find themselves in OT for the second game in a row with the Sailors on the power play with 5 minutes left in OT defenseman Kyle Langlois found a stray pass and turned it into a breakaway from just inside the Mount Forest blue line and would find the back of the net for the game wining goal.  It was a great team effort with strong fore checking, great defence and awesome net minding. This coming weekend will be a busy one with games at home Friday, away Saturday and home on Sunday.  Check the playoff schedule and come out and support the Peewee Rep to victory.
