LLFHL Championship Weekend - Final Four
The Peewee Sailorettes travelled to Oshawa, Ontario on Saturday April 2, 2011 to represent the Southwest Pool at Championship Weekend.  The girls earned this right to attend by defeating Bluewater Hawks, Stratford Aces and Chatham Outlaws, all in 2/3 series.

The semi-final game saw the girls matched up against the winner of the Southeast Pool, The Guelph Thunder.  A much larger and more physical squad, the girls were anxious about the game.  From the first drop of the puck, it was clear the Sailorettes wanted the win.  With strong forechecking and backchecking, the girls were first to the puck almost every time.  At the end of regulation time, it was 2-0 for the Sailorettes.  The first time the girls had defeated this squad all season.  Celebration was in the air as the girls were now playing in the gold medal game.

The championship game was against the Clarington Flames, who had defeated Etobicoke Dolphins in the other semi-final matchup.

From the first drop of the puck to the end of the 3rd period, it was a back and forth see-saw battle. With less than 1 minute left in the 3rd period,  fans for both teams were anticipating a sudden death OT period.  But as fate would have it, with 18 seconds left in the game, an unfortunate deflection would result in a breakaway for the Clarington team.  Their player, #11 would make no mistake and execute a beautiful wrist shot off the post and into the back of the Sailorette net.

The final buzzer would signal the end of the game, 1-0 for Clarington.  Well done to both teams, it was a great effort from all.  Good sportsmanship and skill throughout the game.

Well done Sailorettes.  A great way to end the season.  A silver medal at Championship weekend. Hold your heads high.  Your effort was impressive.

From the coaching staff, thank you for your effort and dedication throughout the season.
