Bantam Reps fail to Advance despite great showing at Glencoe Touranment
The Bantam Rep team travelled to Glencoe, Ontario on Oct 24th and 25th, 2009 to participate in the 14th Annual Glencoe Ice Cats Tournament. Despite a great showing, they failed to advance to the medal round.
Game 1 would find the Sailors matched up against the West Lorne Comets. Despite dominating this game, the boys would end up at the short end of the stick, losing 2-1. They boys had numerous opportunities to score however, the puck would just not go in the net.
Game 2 found the boys matched up against the Orono Leafs. The game was a fast-paced, hard hitting game that would end in the Sailors winning 5-0. Good hustle, puck pressure and accuracy would contribute to the Sailors win.
Game 3 was against the Port Carling Thunder. The game was evenly matched in the 1st period however, the Sailors would continue to blast the puck at the Thunder netminder and would skate to a 7-0 victory.
Despite having the best Goals For/Goals Against in the tournament, the Sailors would not advance to the medal round. They did get 3 great games of hockey against 3 opponents they've never played before and had a lot of fun.
Great job and well start to the season. 4 shut-out wins and 1 loss overall.
