The Goderich Midget Sailorettes triumphed 7-0 over Normandy at Memorial Arena last Tuesday
The Goderich Midget Sailorettes triumphed 7-0 over Normandy at Memorial Arena last Tuesday. Early in the first period, the Sailorettes took control of the game when Jaden Mitchell lobbed one into the Normanby net.
In the second period, Emily Gordon fired a hard one passed the Normanby goalie's stick. Soon after, Jacqueline Martin scored with an assist from Kristin McColl.
Julia Huber scored a short handed goal on a pass from Kelsa Curran. Another short handed goal was scored when Jaden Mitchell penetrated the Normanby defence was able to shoot one in the net with help from Laura Smith.
Huber continued the Sailorette onslaught in the third period with an over the shoulder goal. Jaden Mitchell and Taylor Pritchard earned the assists. The final Goderich goal was scored by Shayla Mathers on a pass from Emily Gordon and Kristin McColl.
Brilliant defensive work from Danielle Bean, Jessica Ryan and Kelsey Johnston allowed netminder Jessica Yates to rack up another shut-out.
