Midget Sailorettes Split Games
The Goderich Sailorettes lost one and won one game in this week’s back-to-back home games.


 At Memorial Arena on Sunday the Sailorettes suffered a 4-2 loss to Upper Maitland. Rachel opened the Goderich scoring early in the first period with assists from Julia Huber and Jacqueline Martin. 
 
Goderich did not score again until late in the third period when Martin poked one in the net with help from Laura Smith and Taylor Pritchard.
 
The Sailorettes rebounded on Tuesday with a decisive 8-4 win over Kincardine. Goderich seized the momentum when Julia Huber scored the first of three goals early in the first period on a pass from Rachel Sowerby. Laura Smith scored seconds later when Huber and Kelsey Johnston nicely set her up. 

Johnston assisted Huber’s second goal early in the second period. A hat trick was earned when Jessica Ryan and Johnston deflected the puck to Huber.
 
Jaden Mitchell fired a really good net stretcher into the Kincardine net on a pass from Jacqueline Martin. The Goderich scoring onslaught continued when Shayla Mathers with assists from Emily Gordon and Kelsa Curran. Mitchell and Gordon abetted Martin’s goal, which rounded out the second period scoring.
 
Jessica Yates demonstrated good reflexes when she gloved a shot destined for the net late in the third period.
 
Michelle Kelly scored the Sailorette’s last goal of the game on a pass from Mathers.
